Welcome!  My name is Kris, and I am the founder and creative director of Sunshine & Poppies.

Simply put, I love to make things.  I have traveled many creative paths, and I draw upon my background as an oil and watercolor painter, gallery manager, advertising director, and event planner in every facet of what I do.  Flowers have become my preferred medium, and I feel so blessed to use my creativity to deliver joy, comfort, and celebration to others.  I love what I do.

When I am not working with flowers, I like hanging out with my husband as we travel, take in the outdoors, and play or watch sports.  I have three teenage kids whom I adore, and their attention and affection feed my soul.

I am a forager and a thrifter, and I’m a sucker for anything with a little patina and visible history.  I like to decorate – and then redecorate! – my home.  My goldendoodle, Roxy, is my obsession, and I use our daily walks throughout the Pacific Northwest landscape as inspiration.  (The hydrangeas are my guilty pleasure.)  I keep mostly zen by doing yoga or listening to Chet Baker while I work.
